Insurance
If your question isn't answered below, then please reach out on the contact page. We would love to hear from you!
Do you take insurance?
Yes! We are able to directly bill certain insurance companies for psychotherapy services. Unfortunately at this time insurance does not cover relationship therapies and these costs will be out of pocket.

What insurance companies are you in network with?
Great question! We are in network with:
Premera
Lifewise
Kaiser
This means that we have contracts with these insurance companies to accept clients that are covered under their plans. If you don't see your insurance company here that doesn't mean we can't work with you at a lower than cash pay cost. Check with your insurance company to see if they offer partial or full coverage of my services, even if we are not contracted with them. Some surprisingly do!
We are unable to directly bill insurance providers that are out of network but we can provide you with a superbill that you can submit on your own for possible reimbursement.

Do you only take insurance?
There are other options outside of paying for services via insurance. Private pay (paying the full fee out of pocket) may potentially be an option. Additionally, we hold a limited number of sliding-scale spots for clients that might benefit from having a reduced rate. This rate is determined between client and clinician before sessions begin.
Some folks prefer paying out of pocket because there might be benefit to reduced documentation (ex: no diagnosis required by insurance companies).
If you fall within any of these categories or just prefer to pay out of pocket, let's talk about it!

Am I going to lay on a couch and tell you my deepest, darkest secrets while you take notes?
While this is the classic depiction of therapy that we see in the media time and time again, it doesn't necessarily capture the actual experience of participating in therapy. What you can expect is spending time getting to know each other, building a trusting relationship, and sharing at your own pace. And while laying on a couch sounds lovely, what you typically see is getting cozy in your seat, drinking tea, and having a conversation about past and present experiences, fears and hopes for the future, and so many other things. Therapy is a place where you discuss what YOU want and need to discuss and we support you through that.

Do you only offer Telehealth sessions or can I come to your office for an in-person session?
We offer both in-person and video (Telehealth) sessions. We use a user-friendly, HIPAA compliant platform that protects client privacy called Simple Practice. We are also able to offer video sessions through this same platform.

What days do you offer sessions?
Each clinician holds different office hours. Please reach out to them to see what they offer.

What if we aren't a good fit?
A good fit is determined by both the therapist AND the client. If your experience and needs reach outside of our scope of practice we are happy to refer you to a clinician that would better serve you. If you are feeling like something just isn't clicking in our relationship, lets talk about it! Your healing and growth are truly my top priorities and we would love to see if we can make changes to our working relationship to better serve you OR help you find a therapist that you will connect with. We don't make it very far in our healing if we don't feel connected to those supporting us along the way.

Does attending therapy mean something is wrong with me?
Nope! Despite the recent normalization in attending therapy (yay!) there are still many stigmas that exist regarding what it means about a person to attend therapy. Many people seek counseling for additional support, some are looking to process and heal from a certain incident, some people have experiences that create extreme discomfort (like intrusive thoughts or high anxiety levels) and want to work toward reducing these more acute experiences. No matter where you fall on the spectrum of needing support and healing it does not indicate that something is "wrong" with you. It may just be indicating that you are indeed human! And just like the vast majority of humans, our healing tends to grow exponentially when it is witnessed and supported by another human that can hold space for your unique journey.
